2023 Individual Wave Achievement - Roy Anderson

The 2023 AEA Individual Wave Achivement was presented to

Roy Anderson

"Roy Anderson  has been working at the Bayshore Regional Sewerage Authority since March of 1992 and is the Superintendent and NJDEP Licensed Operator. Prior to joining the staff at the Authority, he was in Operations & Maintenance with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority and Wester Monmouth Utilities Authority. Roy has over 37 years’ experience in the water resource and recovery field and holds S-3 Public Sewage Treatment Operator, a C-4 Public Collection System Operator and is a Journeyman Maintenance Mechanic.

Roy has always been one of our first responders during Authority outages and emergencies, his quick and decisive decision making has successfully mitigated several Authority issues over the years. In addition, his cost-effective solutions for repairs, service and improvements has been instrumental to the success of the Authority.

Roy has also been instrumental in the Plant’s recovery and mitigation from Super Storm Sandy. The Authority facilities were severely impacted by the Super Storm, leaving all treatment and pumping facilities inoperable. Roy was a key member of the Hurricane Recovery Team that got the plant back online and making permit within 30 days. Roy continues to take time out of his busy day to attend project meetings, review plans, and make recommendations for improvements. The Authority has completed over a dozen Super Storm Sandy projects totaling over $50M. Despite all the treatment plant projects, Roy and the Bayshore team have the plant running at peak performance and continues to report to TSS & COD removals of 95-98%.

During his time away from the Plant, Roy continues to contribute to local Boy Scouts of America, his church, and is a volunteer firefighter and current Chief of Morganville Fire Department, District 3, Marlboro Township. There is not a more deserving member of the Wastewater community than for Roy Anderson to be recognized by the AEA with a Wave Award!”
